New on Nintendo Music: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

Nintendo has just added the complete original soundtrack of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe to its Nintendo Music service, making 90 tracks from the 2019 Switch hit available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Released on June 30, 2025, this collection spans 2 hours and 7 minutes, offering fans every memorable melody from the title screen to the closing staff credits.

The soundtrack captures the full range of the game’s musical landscapes, from the jaunty “Ground Theme” that kicks off your journey in Acorn Plains, to the sun-baked rhythms of the “Desert Theme,” the ominous strains of the “Castle Theme,” and the triumphant fanfare of “Big Battle at Peach’s Castle.” Variant arrangements, like those featuring Baby Yoshi, as well as the poignant epilogue pieces, round out this comprehensive audio experience.

The New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe OST is credited to Nintendo’s in-house Sound Team, with the primary composition duties handled by Shiho Fujii and Mahito Yokota. Shiho Fujii joined Nintendo in 2007 and has steadily become one of the company’s go-to composers, contributing to titles like New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and most recently Super Mario Odyssey. Fujii’s style blends bright, pop-inspired synthesizer lines with live-instrument flourishes to bring Mario’s worlds vividly to life. Mahito Yokota is a veteran Nintendo composer best known for his sweeping, orchestral arrangements on Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. His dynamic melodies and driving rhythms have given many Mario games their epic sensibility, and here he teams up again to expand the series’ musical palette.

Accessing the New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe OST is straightforward for any active Switch Online member. Simply open the Nintendo Music app on an iOS or Android device, navigate to the Soundtracks section, and select the Deluxe OST, no extra purchase is required beyond your existing subscription.

This addition bolsters Nintendo Music’s growing library with one of the best-selling titles from the Wii U era and its enhanced Switch port. It arrives alongside Nintendo’s recent free visual update for the upcoming Switch 2, which fine-tunes the game’s graphics for modern displays, ensuring that reliving these levels is both an auditory and visual delight. With this release, Nintendo Music continues to expand its offerings, joining soundtracks from Kirby Star Allies, Splatoon 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
