Pokémon will have its own theme park

During the latest Pokémon Presents, The Pokémon Company and Nintendo unveiled plans to open a permanent, outdoor PokéPark Kanto early in 2026. This park will occupy more than 26,000 square meters within Yomiuriland in the Tama hills of Tokyo, marking the first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction of its kind in the world.

Stretching across this vast footprint will be over 600 Pokémon roaming free throughout the park, inviting Trainers to seek out encounters much like in the digital games. The park divides into two main zones: the Forest and the Town. The Pokémon Forest extends nearly 500 meters, weaving through varied landscapes, rocky paths, dense grass, tunnels, and steep trails, to replicate iconic routes from the Kanto region.

Sedge Town serves as a bustling hub where Trainers can visit a Pokémon Center, browse goods in the Pokémon Store and Trainers’ Market, challenge themselves at the Sedge Gym, and enjoy a daily Pokémon parade alongside Primarina Fountain and additional attractions. Tickets for this immersive experience are slated to go on sale in late 2025, with grand opening celebrations planned for spring 2026.

Visitors can anticipate life-sized statues, and likely animatronic figures, of beloved Pokémon hidden throughout the park, creating interactive photo opportunities and surprise sightings that mirror in-game exploration. PokéPark Kanto represents a new frontier for the franchise, Bringing digital creatures into a physical landscape, and blending advanced theming and real-world exploration to transport fans directly into the heart of the Kanto saga.

As the first of its kind, PokéPark Kanto promises to become a must-visit destination for Trainers worldwide, offering an unparalleled chance to step into the world of Pokémon and forge memories beyond the screen.
