Nintendo has expanded its Nintendo Music mobile library by adding the complete Yoshi’s Story (Nintendo 64) soundtrack. As of June 24, 2025, fans can stream all 49 tracks, around 58 minutes, directly through the Nintendo Music app on Android and iOS. Just by having an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
Launched in October 2024, Nintendo Music is dedicated solely to Nintendo soundtracks, offering iconic scores from both classic and modern franchises, including Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid and even the Wii dashboard music. Recent additions prior to Yoshi’s Story include the Yoshi’s Island (SNES) soundtrack and the Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics score.
While the full tracklist spans everything from tranquil beach melodies to funky boss themes, here are a few standouts: “Yoshis on the Beach”, a laid-back, tropical opening theme. “The Yoshis Grew Happier”, uplifting melody underscoring Yoshi’s quest. “Yoshi’s Disco”, a fan-favorite, groove-driven tune during Baby Bowser’s lair. “Boss Duel” and “Baby Bowser’s Counterattack”, intense, punchy compositions that heighten each showdown. And “Yoshi’s Credits”, nostalgic closing theme rewarding your journey’s end.
For collectors, the app displays all 49 songs in order, from “Yoshi’s Song” to “Yoshi’s Tale” and “Yoshi’s Credits.” Whether you’re revisiting the game or discovering these gems for the first time, the full playlist is at your fingertips. Though Yoshi’s Story received mixed reviews on its 1998 release, nearly everyone agreed the soundtrack was exceptional. Composers Kazumi Totaka delivered a score that blends playful tunes, inventive melodies and rich instrumentation, elements that have aged even more gracefully than the game itself.
Kazumi Totaka has been a cornerstone of Nintendo’s music teams since joining R&D1 in 1990. Best known for “Totaka’s Song”—a 19-note Easter egg hidden across many titles, he’s scored a remarkable array of games spanning over three decades. He has worked since Mario Paint (SNES, 1992) until Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch, 2020), including works like Luigi’s Mansion (GameCube, 2001) or the inconic Wii Channels & Wii Music.
