Pokémon Concierge returns to Netflix very soon

At the recent Pokémon Presents livestream, The Pokémon Company confirmed that the stop motion slice of life series Pokémon Concierge will return for a second season exclusively on Netflix. A new trailer and poster revealed that the four-episode batch is slated to premiere on September 4, 2025, continuing the gentle adventures of Haru and her Psyduck at the tropical Pokémon Resort.

The first season, which debuted on December 28, 2023, marked the franchise’s inaugural fully stop-motion project and its first true slice of life spin off. Animated by Dwarf Studios, the series charmed viewers with felt covered Pokémon models, miniature island sets, and soothing pacing, earning a rare 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 17 critic reviews.

Success on Netflix went beyond praise: in its opening four days, Pokémon Concierge was watched for 3.1 million hours, equivalent to roughly 2.6 million complete views, and it matched that figure in its second week, solidifying its status as one of the service’s surprising hits. Audiences lauded its themes of work-life balance and the heartfelt bond between Haru and her Psyduck, making it accessible to both longtime fans and newcomers.

Behind the scenes, the stop-motion process demanded meticulous care: over 80,000 unique frames were shot across the first season’s four episodes. Director Iku Ogawa orchestrated nuanced movements for every character, while concept artist Tadahiro Uesugi designed 30 distinct facial expressions for Haru alone, infusing the show with a tactile warmth that underscores its handcrafted charm.

Season 2 is set to deepen that magic by introducing new Pokémon guests like Shinx, Arcanine, and Corphish, and by testing Haru’s growth when an unexpected figure from her past arrives at the resort. With its blend of artisanal stop-motion visuals and tender storytelling, Pokémon Concierge looks poised to enchant viewers once again this September on Netflix.
