Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra brings 4v4 battles to Nintendo Switch this September

Bandai Namco has confirmed that Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra, its upcoming 4v4 team based multiplayer battle game, will be launching on Nintendo Switch alongside other platforms this September. The title marks the franchise’s first foray into the MOBA inspired arena combat genre, blending fast paced action with strategic team play. Players will be able to choose from a roster of iconic characters, including Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, and the newly revealed Perfect Cell, each bringing unique abilities and playstyles to the battlefield.

On Nintendo Switch, Gekishin Squadra will feature the same vibrant anime-inspired visuals and flashy combat effects seen on other systems, optimized for both handheld and docked modes. Matches will see two teams of four competing to control key points on the map, combining melee combos, ranged ki blasts, and special ultimate attacks to outmaneuver and overpower opponents. The game’s design encourages coordination between teammates, with character roles and abilities complementing one another for maximum impact.

Ahead of launch, Bandai Namco has opened a global pre registration campaign for all platforms, including the Switch version. Players who sign up before release will unlock in game rewards, such as currency and cosmetic items, with a special Mini Son Goku skin awarded if the campaign reaches its final milestone. These bonuses will be distributed to all participants once the game goes live, giving early adopters a head start in customizing their fighters.

Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra is scheduled to release on September 9, 2025, with servers going live simultaneously worldwide. For Nintendo Switch owners, the arrival of this title offers a new way to experience the Dragon Ball universe, not through traditional fighting game formats, but as part of a dynamic, cooperative team battle that blends competitive intensity with the series trademark spectacle.
